Retired Senior Engineer Eng. Govind Sahu passes away Kataksadar, 31/12 (Apr): Retired Senior Engineer of the Water Resources Department, eminent literary figure and editor of the perennial Mahanadi magazine Eng. Govind Chandra Sahu (85) passed away today at his residence in Mahanadi Vihar. He was ill due to old age-related reasons. Eng. Sahu, who gained national fame in the field of water resources engineering, was associated with many big projects. Not only that, he also wrote many books related to engineering education. As a dedicated and well-rounded seeker, he has written many books. He has a special reputation in the field of translation. He was very popular as a simple, charitable, soft-spoken and generous person. His wife and noted writer Priyambada Sahu, sons Dr. Akan Sahu, Alok Sahu, Avas Sahu, daughter and Indian Forest Service officer Aradhana Sahu, son-in-law Indian Forest Service officer K. Ramesh, along with his daughters-in-law, grandchildren, Biranchi Baral, and relatives were present at his bedside. . Ing Sahu's grandson and senior judge of the Orissa High Court Justice Sangam Kumar Sahu, distinguished literary professor Baishnav Charan Samal, former MLA Parvatava Ranjan Biswal, literary Dr. Govinda Bhuyan, former full secretary Ing Gopalakrishna Behera, Ing Baishnav Charan Nayak, Ing Ramachandra Dash, Ing Pramod Kumar Nayak, Ing Deviprasana Nanda, Corporator Ing Subrata Ghadai, Chairman of Mahandi Development Council Sanjay Jena, editors Himanshu Sadangi, Ravindra Prasad Tripathi, Prahallad Mahanty, editor of Purnima Foundation Ing Alok Bhuyan, Chaturbhuj Mahapatra, Saroj Wain, Pramod Nayak, Kirtidhan Tripathi, lawyer Akash Bhuyan and many officials of the engineering department reached his residence in Sector-2 to pay their last respects. The last rites were performed at the Kaliabudha crematorium while his son Akash laid the foundation stone. Deep condolences have been expressed from various quarters on his demise.
