New Metro Project Approved for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City

The Odisha government today approved the DPR for the second phase of the metro project. This ambitious project aims to reduce travel time between the twin cities to under 30 minutes. Construction is set to begin next month with an estimated budget of ₹2,500 crore. The new line will connect key areas including Bhubaneswar Railway Station, Kalinga Hospital, and Cuttack Old Town. The metro will feature modern amenities, air-conditioned coaches, and real-time passenger information systems. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.
