Job Scam Busted: Rs 1.15 Crore Fraud in Berhampur, Three Arrested

1.15 crore fraud in the name of job Berhampur, 3112 (Bureau): Educated youth and girls were cheated of Rs. 1.15 crore by promising them jobs. Security Behera and Golangthara police station Kutharasing village Nirupama Mohanty has been arrested from thousands of job seekers. Fake appointment letters, stamps and seals along with very important documents were seized from the accused. Appointment letters to thousands of job seekers, offices in all districts, the main accused along with 3 arrested, they collected this money as a deposit. Not only did they not give the jobs, but they did not return the security money. Berhampur Baidyanathpur police station has busted this scam and arrested 3 people. The main accused in the recruitment fraud case against Shri Jagannath Human Empowerment Trust Director and Prashant Kumar of Smritiprabha Mahakuda, Rambha police station, Gadhumma area, Bhadrak has been arrested. All the accused were produced in court on Wednesday. The police are investigating who else is involved in this. While this fraud has come to light in Ganjam district, police investigation has revealed that the trust has opened offices in other districts as well. Berhampur SP Dr. Sarabana Vivek M gave this information in a press release. . As per the information of the SP, the accused Shri Jagannath Human Empowerment Trust opened an office near Engineering School Chack. They advertised that they would provide jobs to people from August 2024. He asked for the appointment of 15 Panchayat level employees and 3 Block level employees in each block. He promised to pay a monthly salary of Rs 10,000 to the Panchayat level employees and Rs 2,500 for additional expenses and Rs 22,000 to the Block level employees and Rs 3,000 for additional expenses. For this, he first asked the job seekers for a security deposit of Rs 12,500. It has been alleged that Rs 20-30,000 was taken from some. It is reported that Rs 1.15 crore was taken from thousands of job seekers. After depositing the security money, he gave appointment letters to start training and starting work from December 2024. In the meantime, a year has passed but no job has been found. However, there were repeated allegations that job seekers from rural areas were being harassed by dakims from Berhampur and Bhubaneswar. A few months ago, the Engineering School Chowk office was closed and the accused was absconding. After the office was closed, the job seekers became suspicious and reported the matter to the Baidyanathpur police station. After the police investigated and arrested the accused, the truth came out.
