India Rejects China's Mediation Claims in India-Pakistan Conflict

THE FRAMEYA Editorial Thursday, January 1, 2026 One conflict, many mediators! China has always been pro-Pakistan, so under no circumstances is China's mediation or intervention acceptable to India, this is no secret. The Chinese Foreign Minister claims to have mediated not only in the India-Pakistan conflict, but in many other conflicts. In fact, this clearly shows China's identity crisis. Therefore, India should express its strong opposition to this. G. Another mediator has recently called for a ceasefire to end the military standoff between India and Pakistan in May. More than seven months after this incident, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi claimed that China mediated to achieve a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Such comments by the Chinese leader have recently become a topic of discussion in the world media. Although there has been no formal response from India so far, it is clear from the claims that the government has been making in the past that no third party intervened. During the three-day military operation (known as 'Operation Sindoor'), India had completely destroyed 11 military posts located in remote areas of Pakistan. Irritated by this, the Pakistani Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) repeatedly requested his Indian counterpart for a ceasefire. The ceasefire was possible on May 10, 2025, with direct talks and consensus between the DGMOs of both the countries. India has been repeating this one thing repeatedly since that day. But till now, it has claimed that the two countries have resolved the dispute through mediation. A few days after the ceasefire, US President Donald Trump suddenly claimed that India had saved South Asia from the threat of a nuclear war by resolving the military conflict between India and Pakistan. Supporting this incident, Pakistan immediately recommended Trump's name for the Nobel Peace Prize. Despite all Trump's efforts to resolve several such disputes and establish peace in the world, he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. This is because such a claim by Trump was not credible. India firmly protested against such blatant lies by Trump. New Delhi made it clear that India does not accept third-party intervention in any bilateral dispute between India and Pakistan. Therefore, Trump's repeated such claims have not been accepted yet. It is certainly understandable why China expressed its mediation after so many months of this incident. But it is also well known that during the military conflict last May, China (and Turkey) provided Pakistan with real-time intelligence information through its satellites, including weapons and drones. It was with China's cooperation that Pakistan attempted to launch drone and missile attacks on India. Fortunately, the Indian Army was able to repel Pakistan's fierce attack with extraordinary courage and coordination. China's current claim seems like a distortion of the truth. Incidentally, it can be said that a neutral country is acceptable for mediation. China has always been pro-Pakistan, so it is no secret that China's mediation or intervention is not acceptable to India under any circumstances. China's Foreign Minister claims to have mediated not only in the India-Pakistan dispute, but in many other disputes. In fact, this clearly shows China's identity crisis. Therefore, India should strongly protest against this. If the India-Pakistan DGMO level talks as per Simla Agreement were recorded and the audio of the Pakistani DGMO requesting ceasefire was available there, it would have helped India to refute such absurd claims now. Then India would be wise to be ever cautious of such uninvited mediators.
