Angul Additional Tehsildar Caught in Vigilance Trap for Rs 9,000 Land Mutation Bribe
Additional Tehsildar Prakash Chandra Nayak of Angul district has fallen into the vigilance trap. The vigilance team has arrested Additional Tehsildar Shri Nayak and his office assistant Kanha Sahu while taking a bribe of Rs 9,000 for land mutation. The vigilance team arrested both of them and inspected 3 places including the Additional Tehsildar's ancestral house and the ancestral house of Kanha. According to information, Om Prakash Agarwal of Angul area has 3 land mutation cases in Chhendipada tehsil. For this, his lawyer repeatedly approached Additional Tehsildar Prakash Chandra Nayak. The Additional Tehsildar had demanded a bribe of Rs 9,000 for this at the rate of Rs 3,000 per case. In this regard, the Peon who had accepted the bribe money from Om Prakash Vigilance was also under arrest. The Cuttack Vigilance Team had laid a trap to catch him. On Wednesday afternoon, Om Prakash's lawyer went to give the bribe money to the Additional Tehsildar. But he asked Peon Kahna to accept the money. While he was accepting the money, the Vigilance Team caught him hiding. Along with seizing the bribe money of Rs 9,000, the Vigilance Team has arrested both the Additional Tehsildar and the Peon. Along with this, the Additional Tehsildar's office room, his rented house in Talcher and his ancestral house in Athamallik Naagaon' Khambeswarpali were searched while Peon Kahna's house in Podapada was searched. Additional Tehsildar Shri Nayak's house is in Athamallik Block Khambeshwar Pali, while a two-storey building is under construction in Nuagarh village. The vigilance team had been camping in front of Athamallik Block since noon. In the afternoon, the vigilance team went to Khambeshwar Pali. They inspected the under-construction building and estimated its value. During the inspection, it was revealed from the vigilance sources that Rs. 2 lakh 90 thousand 500 was found from Shri Nayak's house.
